1st International & 7th National Dr. B.S. Goel Memorial Moot Court Competition 2026
About the Event
The 1st International & 7th National Dr. B.S. Goel Memorial Moot Court Competition 2026 was successfully conducted at IPEM Law Academy, Ghaziabad, on 7th and 8th August 2026. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 74 teams representing various law colleges and universities. The competition commenced with the Inaugural Ceremony on 7th August 2026, followed by the Preliminary Rounds conducted in both offline and online modes. In the offline category, 14 out of 56 teams qualified for the Quarter-Final Rounds, while 2 out of 18 teams from the online category advanced to the Quarter-Finals. The Quarter-Final and Semi-Final Rounds were conducted on 8th August 2026 in online and offline modes. Following intense rounds of legal arguments and advocacy, four teams qualified for the Semi-Finals, out of which two teams advanced to the Final Round. The competition was graced by distinguished legal professionals and academicians. During the inaugural ceremony, Justice Ashwani Kumar Singh, Former Judge, Patna High Court, delivered the Special Address. The Keynote Addresses were delivered by Mr. Sanjeev Jain, Former Principal District & Sessions Judge, Delhi (Retd.), Ms. Sarika Tyagi, Additional Legal Advisor, CBI Academy, Ms. Shampa Tikait, Senior Public Prosecutor, CBI, and Mr. Chirag Mittal, Founder, Resolify Limited. The Valedictory Ceremony on 8th August 2026 was enriched by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Afzal Wani, Former Member, Law Commission, Prof. (Dr.) Rishikesh Dave, Dean, Sharda School of Law, and Dr. Adetutu Deborah Aina Pelemo, Practising Barrister & Lecturer, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, who shared valuable insights with the participants.
Objective
The 1st International & 7th National Dr. B.S. Goel Memorial Moot Court Competition 2026 was organized by IPEM Law Academy, Ghaziabad, on 7th and 8th August 2026 with the objective of providing law students with a competitive and intellectually stimulating platform to develop their skills in legal research, critical analysis, oral advocacy, courtroom presentation, and application of law to contemporary legal issues. The competition was designed to encourage students to engage with emerging areas of law and develop a deeper understanding of complex legal questions. The competition also aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical legal education and practical courtroom experience by providing participants with an opportunity to argue before experienced legal professionals and academicians. Through the competition, students were encouraged to enhance their research, analytical reasoning, advocacy and professional skills.
Results and Awards
The competition concluded with the recognition of outstanding performances in various categories: · Winner: Kashish Batool, Tushar Saxena & Falak Naseem Mansoori – Asian Law College · Runner-Up: Tanya Chahar, Kalyani Kumari & Yash Kesari – Gitarattan International Business School · Best Speaker: Harmanpreet Kaur – Asian Law College · Best Researcher: Unnati Sharma – SDGI Global University · Best Memorial: Anya Mitra, Mridul Krishna & Deepanshu Panwar – USLLS The winners were felicitated with trophies, certificates and cash prizes. The Winner Team received ₹21,000, the Runner-Up Team received ₹12,000, while the recipients of Best Speaker, Best Researcher and Best Memorial were awarded ₹3,100 each.

The successful conduct of the competition was made possible through the guidance and support of Prof. (Dr.) Sugandha Goel, Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sainger, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Rana and Dr. Purnima Chaudhary, along with the dedicated efforts of the Organising Team comprising Ms. Shringarika Tyagi, Ms. Aayushi Mahajan and Mr. Vishnu Kesharwani. The event provided an enriching platform for budding legal professionals to demonstrate their advocacy, research and analytical skills while fostering a spirit of healthy competition and professional excellence.
