Educational Visit of IPEM Law Academy Students to Ghaziabad Lok Adalat

13 September 202510:00 – 17:00Ghaziabad

About the Event

To bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical exposure, more than 20 law students of IPEM Law Academy visited Lok Adalat, Ghaziabad, on 13th September 2025 (Saturday) in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). The visit, guided by Prof. Dr. Yogesh Kumar Gupta and Ms. Simran Dhingra, and supervised by Mr. Roshan Kumar (Officer, DLSA), began with an orientation session highlighting the objectives and functioning of Lok Adalats. The students actively witnessed live proceedings of motor accident claims, matrimonial disputes, cheque bounce cases, and other compoundable matters. This hands-on experience helped them understand the conciliatory nature of Lok Adalats, the importance of compromise, and the role these forums play in reducing the burden on regular courts. They also observed court etiquette, legal arguments, and evidence presentation, gaining valuable insights into the judicial system. The visit further provided an opportunity for students to interact with judges, advocates, and court staff, including defence lawyers Mr. Siddharth Sharma and Mr. Vichitraveer, who shared their perspectives on advocacy, ethics, and access to justice. With the support of Shri Kumar Mitakshar, Secretary to the District & Sessions Judge, the programme proved to be an enriching learning experience, leaving a lasting impact on the aspiring legal professionals.

Objective

To provide law students with experiential learning, practical exposure to the Indian judicial system, and an understanding of the functioning of Lok Adalats through real-time case proceedings and interaction with legal professionals.
