POCSO Awareness Session Organised at IPEM Law Academy

IPEM Law Academy, Ghaziabad successfully organised a special awareness session on “POCSO Awareness” on 28 September 2026 at the Laxmichand Auditorium. The session aimed to sensitise students about the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, child protection mechanisms, legal safeguards, reporting procedures, and the role of various stakeholders in preventing and addressing offences against children. The session was delivered by two distinguished resource persons from the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), District Court, Ghaziabad: · Mr. Vichitra Veer Singh – Advocate, DLSA, District Court, Ghaziabad · Ms. Sunita Singh – Advocate, DLSA, District Court, Ghaziabad The resource persons provided students with valuable insights into the practical application of the POCSO Act, covering important aspects of child safety, identification and reporting of offences, legal procedures, institutional responsibilities, and the importance of adopting a sensitive and child-friendly approach while dealing with cases involving children. The session also focused on sensitising students about their responsibilities as future legal professionals and the role they can play in promoting legal awareness, safeguarding children's rights, and ensuring their protection and dignity. Interaction with practising advocates from DLSA enabled students to connect their classroom learning with practical legal experiences. The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Principal, IPEM Law Academy, and Dr. Purnima Chaudhary, Head of the Department, along with faculty members and students. Their presence and support contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the programme. The session was interactive and informative, with students actively engaging with the resource persons and gaining a deeper understanding of the legal and social dimensions of child protection. Overall, the programme contributed meaningfully towards legal awareness, sensitisation, child protection, and experiential learning, reinforcing IPEM Law Academy’s commitment to developing socially responsible and legally aware future professionals.
