Legal Case Analysis Workshop (External) on Indian Young Lawyer Association V. State of Kerala [(Civil) No. 373 of 2006]
Objective
To identify and understand the implications of a case. In legal research, thorough scrutiny of laws and case laws is essential. the students should be able to recognize the relevant factors and their significance.
Description
The workshop aims to enable the development of writing case studies; participants learned the theory behind developing a good case study and the guiding principles of writing case studies. The workshop was designed for faculty who aspire to improve upon their skills in discussing case studies in the classroom; the principles of effectively leading a discussion in case study analysis were explored during the session.
Adv. Renu Singh (Delhi High Court) explained that Case studies provide students with scenarios in which they can begin to think about their understanding and solutions to problems found in real-world situations. When carefully planned, case studies will challenge students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a safe and open learning environment. She provides a Lecture to the students on a pre-decided case that how to analyse legal cases.
As per the feedback taken from the students and faculty, it has been observed that these kinds of competitions must be conducted every year. The students took part in the activity with enthusiasm. A total of 40 students participated in the events. Principal, Dr. Minaxi Tomar, Convenor(Ms. Priyanka Gupta & Ms. Shilpi Tyagi) and other faculty members were present on the occasion. Overall, the output was positive.
